Filmmaking at United Lisbon Summer Camp

Filmmaking TEENS introduces the student to the various steps of filmmaking, from script to editing.

In two weeks, the students experience collaborating on a film set, going through the different stages involved in a production and make a short film, which is shown in a Special Screening for parents and guests.

The students work on small crews, and each crew makes a short film, developing the script and working on different roles in the production, covering set design and costumes, acting, direction, sound cinematography and editing.

The films are made using accessible equipment such as cell phones, basic sound kits and free state-of-the-art editing software. This way the students learn about tools that can be useful for future school work and in their personal digital media projects.

The program is offered in partnership with the Academia Internacional de Cinema (AIC – aicinema.com.br), one of the most influential film schools in Brazil. The classes are taught in English by experienced instructors, who follow the students’ progress during the entire course
