Deepening knowledge and awareness. IMYC from 11 to 14.The middle years are a very important time in the development of children’s identity and academic capabilities, before the pressures that external exams can bring. The International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) covers Grades 6-8 and engages learners by focusing on the specific needs of the pre-teen and teenage brain, guided by research, and coupled with a progressive pedagogy that encourages students to be informed, globally competent and ready for the next stage of their education. This is our chance to stimulate students, challenge them with different methods of learning and thinking styles, as well as developing a sense of ambition in all that they do in school.
The IYMC curriculum has developed and expanded to offer enriching experiences in all areas, from STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and maths) to developing their creativity through art, music and drama. Alongside this, students develop their linguistic skills in English and Portuguese, and deepen personal awareness and physical abilities.
