Graduating school with the tools to succeed at university and beyondThe IB Diploma Programme is an academically challenging course of study, widely regarded as one of the most prestigious pre-university qualifications worldwide. Through its rigorous investigation of subjects and emphasis on critical thinking and global mindedness, the programme encourages students to become both reflective learners and responsible global citizens.
Students select three Higher Level and three Standard Level subjects, taking into account their individual strengths, interests, and future academic and career aspirations.

Creativity, Activity, Service
Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) is a core component of the IBDP, and one that our students love to participate in. It encourages students to undertake meaningful activities with tangible outcomes, nurturing the qualities of the IB Learner Profile and supporting a balanced approach to intellectual, physical, and ethical growth. Students have free choice over the types of activities they want to pursue (within guidelines).
Throughout their CAS journey, students work towards seven learning outcomes, including the development of new skills, effective teamwork and thoughtful engagement with issues of global importance. Recently, students have been involved in diverse activities such as organising a food and clothing drive for residents affected by flooding, volunteering at and decorating the school library.

Academic Expectations & Passing Conditions
To remain in good standing and advance each year, students must meet our school’s passing conditions. These standards ensure students remain on track for graduation. At the end of each academic year, a student cannot advance to the next grade level if they have:
- Less than 90% attendance

Minimum score of 24/45 in the IB exams, including CAS and TOK requirements.
Welcome from the IB Coordinator
The IB DP is a rigorous academic programme. However, it is so much more than that; the IB programme at ULIS truly goes beyond academics and focuses on developing the whole student. Students have the opportunity to explore their interests outside of academics through student-led initiatives, and with over 50 nationalities amongst our staff and students, we fully embrace global citizenship.
We focus on building students’ critical thinking through core subjects and academic courses while also developing key skills, such as communication, leadership and collaboration. We believe these are
key for students before entering the world beyond school. In any given week, you will see student initiatives from volunteering, sports events, hosting assemblies, tutoring – the list is endless! Students leave ULIS feeling confident in their ability to be reflective, internationally-minded, ambitious young people who are prepared not only for university, but for life beyond it.Mia Champion, IBDP COORDINATOR
