Ensuring all students feel safe at school
At ULIS, the safety and wellbeing of every student is our highest priority. We are fully committed to providing a secure, supportive, and nurturing environment in which all children feel safe, respected, and empowered to thrive while consistently adhering to our school values and to international standards for keeping children safe.

Our safeguarding and child protection policies are aligned with international best practice and are regularly reviewed to ensure they meet rigorous standards. Safeguarding at ULIS is proactive and systematic, embedded in our culture, leadership, and daily practice, not simply reactive to concerns.
We operate robust safer recruitment procedures, including comprehensive background checks and vetting processes for all staff and volunteers. All members of our community receive regular safeguarding training and understand their professional responsibility to protect children and report concerns promptly.
Student voice is central to our safeguarding culture.
We actively encourage students to speak up, knowing they will be listened to and supported. Clear reporting procedures are in place, led by trained Designated Safeguarding Leads, ensuring that any concerns are handled sensitively, confidentially, and in line with established protocols.
Through strong partnerships with families and a whole-school commitment to wellbeing, ULIS works to ensure that every child is protected, valued, and able to flourish both academically and personally.
